What up Geeks!
Never in my wildest dreams, did I ever expect to see a spinoff/sequel to classic Coen Brother’s film, The Big Lebowski! Sure I’ve often wondered what a sequel might look like! Perhaps it would follow the little urban achiever that The Dude impregnated in Maude during the first film. Or perhaps it would follow the everyday adventures of Walter Sobchak as he runs his security company. But honestly, I never gave it much thought because the Coen brother’s have always admitted they’re not interested in a sequel, even though Jeff Bridges, The Dude himself, has openly stated he’d be up for it.
Through the years, there’s been one man who’s constantly pushed for a Lebowski spinoff and that man’s name is John Turturro. Turturro has often spoken publicly about his wish to see further adventures of his character “Jesus Quintana” and surprise surprise….it’s been revealed that he’s currently filming “The Jesus” movie now! The film is not meant to be a direct sequel to The Big Lebowksi, but merely a side story of one of it’s characters. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a cameo or two!
The film, currently going by the title of “Going Places” will star John Turturro as Jesus Quintana, Bobby Cannavale as the character of Petey, Audrey Tautou as a lady friend they’re pursuing and Susan Sarandon as an ex-con. Birth.Death.Movies reports that the new film will be based on the 1974 comedy Les Valseuses: two petty thieves who compete to give a woman (Tautou) her first orgasm after she’s roped into their hijinks.
Count me in! More on this as it develops geeks!
